Run DDU and reboot into Safe Mode (it will prompt this when you run it).Download whatever driver you need/want that works (15.8/15.9/14.12/13.12/whatever) from:.Download Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) as recommended by Blizzard here:.Steps if you want to get your own "safe" versions of the appropriate dll files for this fix: With the steps I took, I was trusting AMD, Display Driver Uninstaller, and myself. I hope this helps somebody that doesn't feel like going all the way back to 13.12 driver, or helps somebody that REALLY REALLY doesn't trust internet downloads. I copied those two files and saved them temporarily elsewhere to later be moved into the diablo 3 directory. Listed there are all associated driver files for this. I learned their location from going to Device Manager and checking my display adapter's driver details. In case anybody is wondering, my dlls were located in the C:\Windows\System32\ and C:\Windows\SysWOW64\ folders (atiumd64.dll and atiumdag.dll respectively). I can also confirm that using the 15.9 beta dll files from it's installation on a release driver set, using the aforementioned method, also works. I moved the files into the D3 directory, and tried again: Voila! Worked perfectly. I then started up Diablo 3 (after a reboot), and had the same problem as before. I successfully uninstalled the beta drivers with Display Driver Uninstaller, and reinstalled the release 15.7 driver set. So, I got to thinking, let's see if these beta dll files I've installed will allow, when using the method in this post, me to use a more stable driver. I've been playing on the 15.9 beta drivers for 2 days now and had a couple screen jitters and two driver failures (it's a beta driver so kind of expected). I can confirm that the 15.9 beta driver is working with HD Radeon cards. Is there some sort of temporal component that determines when it will appear? Does it appear more during certain times of day? On/close to the hour? During certain moon phases? Anything that can tell me when I should be searching would also be very helpful.Last updated at 14:00:17 UTC Weekly Help Desk RAGE Loot Thread Trade Thread Is there a rule like "there can only be 1 random dungeon in this area", meaning that if I am trying for one of the device's dungeons and I see Vile Cavern or Shaitan The Broodmother (who's death opens up Cave of Burrowing Horror), I should just re-instance and try again? Any rules that can end a search early would also be very useful. Anything that once I see it says: Stop searching here and move on would be very helpful. I've also seen a location with a booby-trapped chest in the middle of a large circle and an area with a bunch of skull-shaped spawn closets, but I've definitely seen them near the Ancient Device. I've also never seen it near the 3 Mysterious Jars that summon Pazuzu so it's possible this takes the place of the ancient device as well. If I see certain things, does it mean I can stop searching that side of the center gap in the middle of the Desolate Sands? It seems like the large spiral location takes the place of the Ancient Device as I've not seen them on the same side of the gap. Does it appear on the sides or can I skip searching these? Any information is useful if it saves running around this place. I've seen it appear at the north and south ends of Desolate Sands. How can I speed up my runs so that I'm not wasting time wandering the Desolate Sands? I've spent hours of farming Desolate Sands and it barely seems to show up. To see all 10 for the Wheel of Misfortune achievement and to find all the locations for the Nooks and Crannies achievement, you need to find this thing quite often. I have found the ancient device maybe 7 times and seen 5 of the outcomes.
